Ashkenazi Jewish cheesecake

My auntie Ida used to make her renowned Cheesecake at family occasions. I am pleased to say that in her old age she gave me the secret recipe and even helped me over the phone when I wasn't quite sure how to follow the recipe. She has since passed away and is greatly missed. Here is the recipe in memory of her.

Are there any traditional Thrale forenames?

The most common Thrale male forename is Ralph and Thomas, closely followed by John and William.

Of the 15 direct male ancestors of David Thrale - owner of this website - five were called Thomas, three were Richard two were Robert, with one each of Ralph, Kenneth, Herbert and John. Other common Thrale forenames include, Richard, Alban, Norman and Peter.

Female genealogical records are less readily available. However, common Thrale female forenames during the same period include Elizabeth, Anne, Sarah and Mary.

Bodvel

Hester Thrale also inherited some family property in at Bodvel, North Wales (near Pwellhi). This included two churches. Little is known of this.

Jeremiah (Joseph) Crutchley

Jeremiah Crutchley was born in 1745. His father, Jeremiah Sr, had been a close friend of Henry Thrale's father - Ralph Thrale. The Crutchley family were successful dyers in Clink Street, Southwark where Jeremiah, Sr. also ran a brewery.

Norman Thrale bakers

The Thrale family returned to the village of Sandridge when Norman Thrale opened a baker's shop at Wycombe Place at the Quadrant in 1965, some 80 years after the death of William Thrale in 1883 who farmed Nomansland and was the last Thrale to live in Sandridge.
