All Thrale’s originate from Thrale's End and Sandridge in Hertfordshire in south east England - about 40 miles north of London.

The main resource on Thrale.com about Sandridge, is the 1952 version of Richard Thrale's book Historic Sandridge.

Historic Sandridge Revisited by Janet Rose

Historic Sandridge Revisited by Janet Rose

The document "Historic Sandridge" which was published in 1952 is important because it is one of the best chronicles of Thrale history. Whilst only Chapter 2 of Book 2 is devoted to Thrale family history, the whole of Historic Sandridge is on our site because it gives an insight into the bygone times in which Thrale families used to live, and include a few snippets of useful information about Thrale family history.

Historic Sandridge is no longer in print in the 1952 form. In 1999 it was updated and rewritten. For those interested in the history of Sandridge Village, purchase of the new document is essential "Historic Sandridge Revisited", edited by Janet R Rose. ISBN 0-9537647-0-2. It is published in the UK by St. Leonard's Publishing and costs 7.50 pounds sterling.

The 1999 versions contains less information about Thrale family history, hence I have posted the 1952 version of Historic Sandridge on Thrale.com which would otherwise be unavailable.
