I used to live in Gerrards Cross, Bucks. between '66 and 77'. We lived there because of my father's job. He worked in the international division of Libby's Foods at that time. He already had a great deal of information concerning Thrall genealogy from the American side of the family tree and wished to connect it to the English side. We had the information on William Thrall from the ship's log that indicated he was from Sandridge Parish, Hertfordshire. We decided one day to take off for Sandridge and see what we could find! We spoke with a gentleman at one of the local churches who directed us to speak with Richard Thrale at one of the local businesses we had passed on the way into town. I believe Richard was about the same age as my father. We were pleased to find that he was as interested in genealogy as we were and had written a short book on Thrale genealogy. (He gave my father a copy.) He was unable to confirm the connection between William Thrall and the Thrales due to a fire which had destroyed some of the records. I believe my father sent him the American genealogical information that he had. Since you live in Sandridge, I assume you must be directly related to Richard? I'm glad to see you are doing this website. I heard about it from my daughter. She said you had quite a bit of information on our Thrall family tree. (I've managed to scan over some of it, but I just started.) She said you had my father listed as deceased, but am pleased to say he is still alive and well. He is Harold James Thrall, born to Harold Leonidas Thrall and Elizabeth Schriber Thrall in Mansfield, IL on June 15, 1925. I will register on the web site and will be happy to provide you with additional names and dates.
